Imagining the story of an ice cream cone dropped onto the floor of the promenade of a seaside town. Did a seagull attack and miss? Is there a very sad child close by who dropped it by accident? Did someone drop it in shock after recognising their long lost love from a distance and run towards them? Whatever the story behind it the Ice Cream Cone is connected to my childhood ice cream parlours in Redcar and Middlesbrough - Pacittos and Rea’s, if you look closely you can see why. The flavours are mint choc chip, vanilla and chocolate (I decided that the acid yellow of the Pacitto’s lemon top would clash dreadfully with the fluorescent pink and this painting had to be fluorescent pink).
